Daytrips Raft or kayak on the Pacuare River
Rafting the Pacuare will give you an unforgettable and adventurous experience as you will go through exciting rapids while being surrounded by unspoiled wilderness. Volcano tour This 3339 meter high volcano provides great hiking through different eco systems. River camp - overnight Our campsite at the bank of the Pacuare River has a deep sense of wilderness and a night of falling asleep with the sounds of crickets in this magical place is a must. River kayak course Because of the amount & quality of the rivers around Turrialba, studying at Spanish by the River is a great opportunity to combine Spanish lessons with a river kayak course. There are Spanish and English speaking kayak instructors. The two day course includes instruction, equipment, transportation and food.

Half daytrips
Hospital point visit this 50-foot wall off Isla Solarte a great place to snorkel and see lots of coral and fish, to be reached by motor boat, kayak or canoe.
Playa Bluff This beach is especially interesting to visit during the turtle season (March till August). When going to Playa Beach by bike, you can be assured of an amazing view as the entire bike ride will lead you along the coast. Or if you don't want to tire yourself out there is always the option of taking a taxi there.
Carenero Small beaches that are perfect for swimming as well as a place to practice boogie boarding. To be reached by motor boat, kayak, canoe or even swimming! There are several restaurants and bars on the island.
La gruta Located 8 km out of town, on the road to Boca del Drago you can find this shrine dedicated to the Virgen del Carmen. It is a peaceful place and some people enjoy walking in the cave (that is also full of) where they will find many bats!
Red frog A 10 to 15 minute boat (ride) trip from Isla Colon, Bastimentos is home to some of Bocas' finest beaches. Red frog is also called "second beach" and is famous for the tiny red poison dart frogs that live on the island.

Cacao farm The educational tour on a cacao farm on the mainland of Bocas del Toro proceeded by a boat trip that sometimes enables you to observe dolphins, makes for a very special day.

Weekend Eco/tourism with WEKSO ODESEN this is an organization for Development of sustainable Eco - tourism that supports the preservation of local natural resources and cultural traditions of the NASO, indigenous communities.You first travel to the mainland where you will be waited for by a member of the mentioned organization. After a taxi trip you will get on a boat and go upstream on the enchanting and thrilling Teribe River into the dense jungle of 'La Amistad International Park'. At the edge of the tropical forest you will spend the night in a typical indigenous hut. The next day you will visit the Naso communities and the former jungle survival military training school of Noriega.
PADI dive courses Because of the great diving spots around Bocas, studying at Spanish by the Sea is a great opportunity to combine Spanish with becoming a certified diver. Our dive instructor speaks English, Spanish, German and Dutch and has a small dive operation which he runs from his house. You can do all PADI courses from Open Water (beginner) till Dive Master. The course includes instruction, material, tanks and certification.
Wave surf course With extensive coastlines on the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, Panama is home to some of the finest surfing in Central America. The principal surfing season in Bocas extends from late November to early April, with a short season in June and July. With advanced notice, Spanish by the Sea can arrange affordable, private surf instruction for students, including experienced local instructors, equipment, materials and transportation in one package. Students are advised to bring booties.
Saling course A Licensed and experienced captain will teach you the basic skills about sailing with a 18 feet Hobbie Cat, and the big 42 feet Catamaran. After the 3-7 day course you will be able to sail the Hobbie Cat alone!

On your own Activities you can do on your own are visiting places like "Mi jardin es su jardin", which is private estate where you are free to walk around the very beautiful gardens, "El explorador" a place outside of town that has terraced gardens with a lot of funny surprises, the museum that exhibits pre-Columbian artifacts or drinking some famous Boquete coffee in one of the local coffee shops. Furthermore, because of the lovely natural scenery and cool climate, adventurous hikes through pristine rainforest, canyons and waterfalls are great options. |

Half daytrips Coffee Tours On these tours you can learn about the production and processing of the high quality coffee of Boquete. Cupping sessions and information about environmentally friendly methods are sometimes included.
Horse back tour
The surroundings of Boquete are perfect for a relaxed afternoon on a healthy horse.
Canopy tour
Glide through the canopy of cloud forests on 3 kilometres of zip-line divided into 11 different cables, high above pristine rivers and waterfalls of the National Park La Amistad and the famous Baru Volcan.
Guided hikes combined with bird watching Hikes of two till four hours, from easy to difficult walking and in various parts of the Boquete, of Caldera are more interesting if you can go with a local guide that can tell you about all you see and don´t see on your way.

Daytrips
Volcan Baru In total you will need about 11 hours to go up till the summit and go down again. There are walking trails and the park is home to abundant wildlife including the quetzal and a raccoon-like animal. Camping on the summit is an option.
Rafting The Chiriqui province is like a paddler's paradise. The stretches are long and there are lots of rivers, each with various sections with different levels of difficulty. Daytrips with river lunches included are very popular weekend trips.
Hiking "Sendero de quetzales" This difficult tour lasts about seven hours and is well known because you might see the quetzals.
Weekend escape to the Pacific ocean and some islands In one hour you will be on the Pacific ocean to go to the beach or go fishing. Combinations are also available.
Visit other towns Towns like Volcan, Cerro Punta (for famous horse stables and trout fishing) or Guadelupe (for the Orchid Sanctuary) are easy to reach and interesting to visit.
