Well, first of all, just like in English and other languages, the verbs that we mostly use tend to be irregular. Just think of the verbs \u201cto be\u201d and \u201c to go\u201d. These verbs are also highly irregular in Spanish. This means that you will hear and use these verbs more often.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, there are groups of irregular verbs in the different tenses.\u00a0 You will notice that lots of verbs with the letter \u201ce\u201d in the stem changes into \u201cie\u201d or \u201ci\u201d a lot of times;\u00a0 you can learn which verbs fall into the different groups. \u00a0For example \u201csentir\u201d, \u00a0\u201cmentir\u201d \u00a0and \u201cpedir\u201d become \u00a0\u201cyo siento\u201d, \u201cyo miento\u201d and \u00a0\u201cyo pido\u201d when conjugated in the present.<\/p>\n
Also, some verbs need to be irregular in the past tenses in order to maintain a right pronunciation. The verb \u201csacar\u201d becomes yo \u201csaqu\u00e9\u201d since it wouldn\u2019t be pronounced correctly if it were conjugated as a regular verb \u201csac\u00e9\u201d.<\/p>\n
