Hiking Tour in Puerto Viejo

The Gandoca-Manzanillo Refuge is a National Park that contains a beautiful rainforest, wetlands and a coral reef. The National Park begins south of Punta Uva and about 9 miles south of Puerto Viejo. It runs into the Sixaola River all the way to the Panamanian border. A nice way to experience the park is to hike from Manzanillo up to the viewpoint and relax at one of the little beaches you will find at that spot. Several trails make their way up to Punta Mona, about 6 miles away. It is possible to spot a variety of wildlife such as monkeys, sloths, snakes and different kind of birds.
