The Miraflores Visitors Center next to the Panama Canal has a four-floor interactive museum and several viewing platforms. Entrance fee $15.
The Biomuseo holds eight galleries telling us about the origin of the Panamanian isthmus and its gigantic impact on the planet’s biodiversity. Entrance fee $25.

The Interoceanic Canal Museum is a non-profit and public museum located in Casco Viejo. Established in 1997, the museum is devoted to the history of the construction of the Panama Canal in its various stages. This includes the first construction attempt by France, the later construction by the United States and also the eventual transfer to Panamanian control. Entrance fee $2.
The Afro-Antillian Musem is dedicated to the preservation of the history and culture of Panama’s large West Indian population. You will find photographs, tools and furniture that will give you a good idea of the working and living conditions of black canal-workers. Sunday closed. Entrance fee $10.
The Panama Viejo Museumis located a few miles from downtown. It is the location of the famous ruins of the former capital of Panama and offers you an amazing display of the country’s rich and vibrant history. Entrance fee $2.

The Smithsonian Institute at Bocas del Toro's main island is a site for education and research, providing scientists and students with access to an extraordinary diversity of marine and terrestrial biology. This station is situated among areas of undisturbed forest and a remarkable coastal lagoon. On Thursday afternoons at 3 pm you can enjoy a free tour through the grounds!
