Staying with local families give you the opportunity to practice the Spanish language much more than if you would only take Spanish classes. You will not only be part of the family but also of the whole neighborhood and you will be observing a complete different way to live than what you are used to!
In Puerto Viejo, the local people have Caribbean roots and are famous for their family ties, great food and welcoming lifestyle!
You will have a private room and a shared bathroom in the package with home stay in Costa Rica. It always includes pick-up at the local bus station, an orientation in town, laundry servce and breakfast. Both lunch and dinner can be added if you wish. Food is typical Costa Rican so you will eat rice and beans, chicken, plantains and lots of fruit. We can only expect the local family to adapt their cooking a little bit to your specific dietary needs so if you eat for example gluten free, you will need to bring some products to supply the food that will be offered.
If you have booked our pick-up package from San José, we know what time you will be at the bus station, but without that package, you need to let us know what time you will arrive in Puerto Viejo so we can welcome you at the busstation and bring you to your host family in Puerto Viejo!
