We don’t own our own location in Panama City but have our base at the Hostel La Posada 1914, a two story colonial house located in the heart of the Bella Vista district, about a 5 minute walk from the always lively Cinta Costera that leads to the tourist areas such as the Calle Uruguay and Casco Viejo. Restaurants and supermarkets are all right around the corner.

Panama City: The hostel
In Panama City, the hostel that we use to stay while in the City is called CASA AREKA and is perfect for people that like to be independent, cook their own meals and share conversations with fellow travellers.
The hostel attracts lot’s of adventurous individual travellers. It is very centrally located, in Punta Pacífica with lots of restaurants, shops and even a gym close by. In about 15 minutes you are walking at the Cinta Costera, the boulevard next to the Pacific Ocean and that leads to Casco Viejo where the party is alive every day of the week. The shopping centre Multi Plaza is located at 10 minutes walking as well!

Dinners, parties and going to the local bars and discos are a great way to get to know your fellow students, relax and have some fun. So don’t miss the get-togethers during the week and especially on the weekends! Panama City, Bocas del Toro and Puerto Viejo offer vibrant nightlife every day of the week. In Boquete and Turrialba it is generally more centered around the weekend.
Museum & Reseach Institutes
In Costa Rica & Panama a great deal of research is done in tropical agricultre, biodiversity and conservation, so you are in the right countries to learn about these topics. Furthermore, in Panama City there is a rich variety of museums where you can learn about the Panama Canal and the AfroAntillian Culture. The Gold and Jade museums are among several that can be found in San Jose, just a day trip away from Turrialba.
